Christ the King Prayer

Oh Holy Mystery,

The oneness who comes in forms of delicate twigs
birds’ limbs
the tadpoles
the octopus
the galaxy that swims.

Help us see, too, the power, the kingdom, the righteousness of Christ
Not hovering above or beyond but deep in bodies
beneath and beside.

Bodies of tiny things
vibrations of strings
somewhere deep within.

Help us know not by our minds
but by the constant beating
the rise and fall of bellies
the power and authority of Christ in the fragility and strength of all things.

Wake us up to the reality that is here for us now.
Birth us into sensation that our feet know so well.
The knowing of this kingdom in the soil of our earth.
When we stop and listen to the Christ way of hearing.

Help us turn off the noise that keeps us from this seeing.

The billboards, the clock, the traffic and buzzing.

Let us turn towards this humming:
the song that keeps this world twirling.
So we may dance the lightness, the darkness, the oneness of life
and live deep within this kingdom

Here, now.
