God of the Darkness
who comes to us
when the sun has set
the night has come
and the shadows of the world and our souls become one.
You come to us
in the wrestle of life
in the fight for a blessing
giving us a new name
from the struggles we have endured
from the moment we were birthed.
So let us, in our faith,
get caught in this embrace
when we wrestle you face to face
and speak out, ask, and demand
making you understand
we will not let go of you now
until you bless us in the darkness
somewhere and somehow.
