Mysterious, mighty and meek God,
You turn rulers and realms on their head
You turn a crown of jewels into the crown of thorns
You reveal the thrown of glory by giving over your seat to wash disciples’ feet
As we gather ourselves in this space
and orient ourselves to your upside down kingdom
worshiping the king who became a servant
the Son of Man who came from an unmarried Jewish teenager’s womb
break open for us your will and your way
to create in us a will and a way
even now and in this place
to become our true selves in righteousness
to journey your path to eternal life
when we feed the hungry and give water to the thirsty
when we welcome the stranger and clothe the naked
when we take care of the sick and visit the prisoner
the least of these and the sinners.
We pray for this kingdom to come
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
