Liberation’s Way

Angel of YHWH
You are the pillar of cloud
that lights up the night
one with the darkness
and one with our fright.

Lead us away
from powers and politics
that subdue and persuade
and guide us on dry land
the path to your freedom
by Moses’ hand.

Form a wall of grace
for the downcast and displaced:
those we turn our backs towards
and those we have enslaved

for no one can be free
unless we all can be.

So come, great pillar of light,
guide us in the darkness
until all things are made right.
